Our Beliefs

North Oldham Baptist Church

We are committed to worshiping and serving Jesus Christ.  We are unashamedly committed to the Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments as entirely truthful – and we seek to be biblical in all that we do.

We are missional in focus, believing that we are called to take the gospel to the ends of world. As such, we have voluntarily associated with the Southern Baptist Convention, the largest evangelical mission organization in the world, to proclaim the good news of salvation in Jesus Christ to every nation and person around the world.

Our church affirms the historic Abstract of Principles, as well as the Baptist Faith and Message.

We hold to the historic doctrinal tenets that have been cherished by orthodox, evangelical, Protestant Christians:

  • Scripture alone rules our faith and practice.
  • Grace alone is how we are saved.
  • Faith alone is how we receive God’s grace.
  • Christ alone is the object of our faith.
  • The glory of God alone is our desire.

A commitment to these truths anchors us to the past, gives us joy in the present, and sets our course for the future.

Christ reached out to people of all ages and backgrounds and, we desire to do the same. That’s why you’ll hopefully discover that our ministries are geared to various life stages and needs. We have a venue for each person to study the Scriptures, fellowship, and serve one another in the name of Jesus Christ.

We invite you to be a part of the blessings of God in the life of our church.

Membership Covenant of North Oldham Baptist Church
Having received the Lord Jesus Christ as our Savior, and by profession of faith alone in Christ alone, and having been baptized in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, we do now in the presence of God, most solemnly and joyfully, enter into Covenant with one another as one body in Christ. We commit ourselves, by the aid the Holy Spirit, to walk in Christian love by maintaining and protecting the unity of the Church, by acting in humility toward others, and by being slow to take offense and quick to forgive and seek forgiveness. We also commit ourselves, by the aid of the Holy Spirit, to share in the mission of the Church by praying regularly for its spiritual and physical growth, and for that of the Church universal. We also commit ourselves, by the aid of the Holy Spirit, to serve the Church by discovering our gifts, by study and preparation, and by desiring a servant’s heart. We further commit ourselves, by the aid of the Holy Spirit, to support the testimony of the Church by attending faithfully, by living godly lives, and by sharing our time, talents, and resources, for the glory of God alone.
